COMBINING MATERIALS
Rules Are the First Thing to Go
Mixed media doesn't follow a single set of rules — but a few combinations show up again and again for good reason. Paper collage adds texture flat paint can't replicate, while ink over acrylic gives crisp linework a chance to sit on top of loose, expressive color. Found materials — old book pages, fabric scraps, cardboard — bring history and unpredictability into a piece store-bought supplies can't. The work above ranges from quiet, paper-based collage to bolder sculptural pieces built from cardboard relief and expanding foam, all treating every material as fair game.
